Overview

This program is designed to help people

  • Develop a better understanding of their drinking (and/or drug use) including any risks (e.g., future Driving While Impaired (DWI) or Driving Under the Influence (DUI) arrests, health-related problems, etc.) it might pose.
  • Consider whether or not to change their drinking and/or drug use to reduce their risk.
  • Consider how to make those changes if they decide to.
  • Be successful in completing their probation and avoiding further run-ins with the law.
To do this we have developed 2 modules
  • The Drinker's Check-up. The Check-up has 3 elements:
    • Look at Your Drinking
    • Get Feedback
    • Consider Your Options
  • The Right Turns Tool Box. This is a set of exercises to learn skills that are helpful in changing, both for those who are required to not drink as a condition of their probation, and for those who decide to stop drinking on their own.
